Our Farms

From the Sandveld to Klein Karoo

The six farms in the Laastedrif Group feature varying altitudes and climatic conditions, enabling us to produce quality fruit and vegetables all year round. From the Sandvelt (Elandsbay) and the slopes of the Matroosberg mountain (Ceres) often covered snow in winter, to the plains the Klein Karoo with its warm, dry climate, we work with nature to bring out the best in our produce.

The farms and their produce are:


At 125o m above sea level, Laastedrif is the highest farm in Ceres’s Bo-Swaarmoed area to produce vegetables. 300 hectares under cultivation.

Produce: Apples, Broccoli, Carrots, Cauliflower, Onions, Pears, Swiss chard spinach



Located next to Laastedrif in the Bo-Swaarmoed area. 220 hectares under cultivation,

Produce: Apples, Beetroot, Carrots, Onions, Pears



Only 8 Kilometers from Laastedrif yet 305 mters lower and three to five degrees Celsius warmer, enabling the growing of vegetables in winter. 150 hectares under cultivation.

Produce: Apples Apricots, Peaches, Pastures



Located outside Touwsriver in the Klein Karoo. Most winter produce planted here due to warmer climate. Large variety game, including gemsbok, black wildebeest, eland, zebra, springbok and the endangered riverine rabbit.

Produce: Broccoli, Butternut squash, Cauliflower, Onion seed, Pumpkin



Located in the Sandveld, only 9 km from Elandsbay 220 kilometers from Laastedrif’s mother farm. This is the latest addition to the Laastedrif Group to supplement production during winter. 180 hectares under cultivation by pivots.

Produce: Beetroot, Butternust squash, Carrots, Onion plants, Potatoes, Sweet Potatoes


An empowerment farm next to Ceres, with 60% shares owned by employees who had service of five years or more upon purchase. 55 hectares under cultivation and still growing.

Produce: Apples, Nectarines, Peaches, Pears



Nuwerus is the latest acquisition to the Laastedrif group. 200 hectares of vegetables are cultivated under pivot irrigation
